Porcelain d’Uccle Bantam chicks are a wonderful choice for backyard flock owners who want a true bantam breed with sweet personality, fancy feathering, and strong show appeal. Developed in Uccle, Belgium, the d’Uccle gets its name from its place of origin and is loved for its charming appearance and gentle nature.

The d’Uccle is a true bantam, which means there is no standard-size version of this chicken. These small ornamental chickens are known for their full beards, muffs, and feathered feet. Because of the feathers on their feet, some chicken keepers also refer to them as booted bantams.

The D’Uccle breed was admitted to the American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection in 1914 for Mille Fleur, 1965 for Porcelain, and 1996 for Self Blue. These bantams are popular at poultry shows because they are attractive, docile, and easy to handle.

d’Uccle Bantams can be kept in confinement, but they often prefer room to walk around and explore. They are not especially cold hardy, so they do best with proper shelter, dry footing, and protection from harsh winter conditions. Hens are also known for going broody and can make good mothers for hatching eggs.

If you are looking for bantam chickens for sale, d’Uccle Bantams are a beautiful way to add personality, ornamental charm, and exhibition-quality appeal to your backyard flock.
