The Black Rosecomb Bantam originated in England and they show up in records dated back as far as the 14th century. This breed was admitted into the American Standard of Perfection in 1874.
The Black Rosecomb Bantam is a true bantam because there is no standard size breed. Its color is black with a green tint. This breed is a clean legged breed. They are known for their great red rose comb, large round white ear lobes, large tails, and slate legs. The hen will weigh about 22 ounces and the cockerel will weigh around 26 ounces.
The Rosecomb Bantam is a stylish bird that acts flashy and proud. This breed is not known to be aggressive but they are not docile either. These birds can also fly but do well in confinement. They are not a very hardy bird. This breed makes an excellent pet and does very well in shows.
